The Bible teaches us some things that guide us in life and I think there is one that is overlooked.  We accept Jesus as our Savior and then we too often go the way of the crowd. There is a truth taught in the bible that is overlooked.  We are guided by the Holy Spirit, not by others.  Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life.

We are also taught that we are lead by the Holy Spirit.  He is also our teacher, and our guide.  In this world today the crowd is mostly non Christian, and they do not live by Christian principles, therefore we can not follow the crowd.  If your friends are doing something that is not right - you should put distance between you and them.  If they don't like that they are not your friend they are just using you.  So often the people that we call our friends will leave us when we are out of money or the things they want. If all your friends' want is to use you they are not your friends at all.

A REAL FRIEND WILL BE YOUR FRIEND WHEN IT IS NOT POPULAR TO BE YOUR FRIEND, THEY WILL ALWAYS BE THERE WHEN YOU ARE IN TROUBLE, OR HURTING.

To be true to ourself we must always do the right thing, based on the Bible and our heart.  The prodigal son in the bible was not doing right or being true to himself when he wasted his living in a far country. As long as he had money he had friends, but when the money ran out the friends ran out. This is the way of the world. Another one is, WHAT WILL MY FRIENDS SAY?  If your friends are true Christians they will support righteousness, but if they are people of the world they don't love you anyway.

This brings us to BOY FRIENDS AND GIRL FRIENDS.  If that boyfriend or girlfriend really loves you and is a Christian, they won't insist on sex before marriage no matter what others are doing. I know that this is not what some of you want to hear, but I must be true to myself and God.

If you are not a Christian you are living dangerous, because eternity is a long time and hell is hot.  If you don't believe in hell it - won't change a thing when you die.  It is like the man that didn't believe in electricity, because he couldn't see it, IT KILLED HIM ANY WAY.
